An invisible set gents ring? Sounds like trouble to me as most guys are not all that careful with their jewelry.

More Graver-Set Jewelry Views:

Note the gouges in the channel wall and the scant amount of gold covering the diamonds. Since the ring is white gold “prongs” are brittle. The positive about this ring is that the stones are somewhat counter-set lower than the top.

This engagement ring has some heavier “prongs” gouged out of the channel. It may actually be a little sturdier than most graver-set rings. However, because it is a definite “everyday” ring I don’t think it will fair much better.

Left: Although not a typical hollow ring this hollowed-out ring is one to avoid. You can see the damage this ring has sustained.

True Channel-set Jewelry

Above: True channel-set ring. Although in need of a little polish, this ring is an example of true channel-setting style. Note that the baguettes are covered by the metal of the channel rather than gouged beads on each stone.
